Hubsphere: Ruby Software Engineer

We are a company of 15 skilled individuals,of which 5 are developers. We have a growing portfolio of UK and French based public and private clients. About the role:
As a member of Hubsphere’s development team, we want you to bring experience building real products in the real world from the ground up. Your teammates should see you as a programming expert and go to you with their toughest problems. You should be comfortable jumping in the deep end and learning new skills on a bleeding edge platform.
Join us and help bring our ideas (and your own!) off the whiteboard and into reality. Here are some high level areas you could help with:
- Scale our architecture and improve performance to handle new customers.
- Work on constantly improving the User Experience and Usability of the system.
- Participate in the design and direction of the products.
- Introduce new technologies to help streamline our processes.
- Work on the backend calculation engine.
Our engineers play a key role in product development, from concept to launch, so be ready to bring your creative ideas to the table. This role is based in our office in Wimbledon. We offer a competitive compensation package.
About You:
- you are interested in finding solutions to build sustainable businesses.
- you demonstrate awesome programming ability in Ruby, experience with rails is a bonus.
- you have a BS or MS in Computer Science/Engineering or related field
- you are fluent in English. (French would be a bonus )
- you have an ability to collaborate and discuss engineering architecture.- you love test driven development and agile practices.
- you are not afraid to dig through any source code to track down the problem.- you care about system reliability and code quality.
- you are comfortable in a small, intense and high-growth start-up environment.
- you want to (or already do) contribute to open source projects.- you love to dive into a new technology.
- you enjoy working remotely from time to time.
- you love github.
- you loves a challenge.
You have these skills or experiences:
- you have at least 1-2 years of experience programming in ruby.
- you have knowledge of NoSQl or even better, MongoDB.
- you have worked on AJAX based websites.
- you have worked in a BDD agile environment.
- you understand and practice proper use of Cucumber and Rspec
- you have some experience with Linux server administration.
- you like writing and using REST Apis.
- you like to develop in OSX
- you have sense of humour under pressure
And it would be a bonus if you have these skills or experiences:
- you have experience with data analytics using OLAP, Map/Reduce or other technologies
- you have previously lead an agile team.
