Haymarket Media: UI Designer
(New York, NY) Haymarket Media is seeking a Lead Web Designer to join on our Digital Team in support of our various online and mobile properties. Haymarket is an international privately-owned media company employing over 2,000 people, with headquarters in London, and offices in the USA, India, Germany, China and Australia. The US office is based in the Flatiron district of Manhattan. Working directly with the digital development, product management, and editorial teams, you'll employ your amazing eye for design and detail to help create and develop user-centric, usable interfaces across web and mobile user experiences. With an eye for typography and obsession for fit and finish, you will create concepts and ideas, expressed through sketching, paper and digital prototyping & wire framing, full design or html mock-up and be able to explain a rationale to your approach, incorporating both brand and best practice. If you can code (html/html5, css, javascript etc) that's a great advantage. If you can't, you'll still have great understanding of what technology does, can and can't do. An understanding of testing would be an advantage whether that be standard usability testing via interviews and focus groups or A/B and multivariate testing tools. Project can and will range in size and variety – from small scale iconography to full blow redesigns of our online properties. Some of our sites include DMNews.com, Racer.com, myCME.com, empr.com, scmagazineus.com, mmm-online.com, prweekus.com etc. This is a wonderful opportunity to make your mark on a large portfolio of successful digital properties. Previous design work has been handled by contract – this is a chance to properly lay the foundation for Haymarket’s design and user experience direction.
