Blue Ember Design is a full-service web shop located in Danville, CA. We are looking for a PHP Software Developer with MVC framework experience (preferably in CodeIgniter).

This is a full-time contract job with the option to work remotely (if not located locally). This is NOT an entry-level position. After the contract concludes, an option to extend to permanent status may be presented.

Company Requirements:

• Ability to work 40+ hours a week (no side work on our time)
• Must be able to be available throughout the day for collaboration and status updates
• Must have your own equipment and software (if remote)
• Must be based in the US (preferably in Pacific Standard Time)
• Must have excellent communication skills

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain websites and web services for client projects
• Communicate project progress, issues and resolutions
• Maintain clear and concise documentation/code commenting
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Required: A minimum of 5 years of experience in website development using PHP
• Required: Experience programming PHP MVC (preferably in CodeIgniter)
• Required: Experience with MySQL
• Required: Experience in Linux/Unix based environments
• Required: Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/jQuery
• Required: Highly detail oriented and not satisfied with mediocre results
• Experience with WordPress and/or Expression Engine
• Experience with Ecommerce software a plus
• Knowledge of revision control software (Subversion)
