ABOUT THE POSITION

The Front End Developer will create front-end templates with a focus on maintaining the highest quality with regard to coding standards, accessibility, and browser support, including mobile. In a team-based environment, the Front End Developer will build and modify Web pages in HTML, CSS and JavaScript from creative design layouts; interact with software engineers; propose new front-end solutions and processes; and work with team to implement them successfully.

REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

  • At least 2 years experience in a related role
  • Strong skills in developing interfaces with HTML and CSS, particularly in developing XHTML compliant interfaces that rely purely on CSS for layout.
  • Should be familiar with HTML5 and CSS3
  • JavaScript experience and ability to use JavaScript to create dynamic web interfaces
  • Knowledge of implementing and utilizing the JQuery library in interfaces
  • Ability to follow coding and layout standards established by the programming team or by the client
  • Experience with interface engineering and usability best practices
  • Ability to perform cross-browser testing
  • Experience generating HTML that renders effectively in email clients
  • Ability to work in a small, dynamic team on multiple, simultaneous projects
  • Strong attention to detail and high quality code
  • Proactive communicator who can collaborate with other team-members to ensure successful completion of shared tasks
  • The desire and ability to learn new skills quickly
  • Self-starter who can work independently without a lot of supervision

ADDITIONAL SKILLS DESIRED

  • Mobile front-end development a plus – including familiarity with Mobify or other mobile development tools/platforms
  • Knowledge of Convio CMS and/or eCRM (COM)
  • Experience with WordPress theming
  • Experience with PHP as it relates to templating syntax in CMS and other applications
  • Experience with third party APIs such as Google Maps, Facebook, Twitter, and/or Convio
  • Experience with Flash and ActionScript
  • Experience working with content management systems –eZ Publish, Sitecore, RedDot, and/or Drupal are a plus
  • Experience working in a consulting environment on matrixed teams
