Kulturbyrået Mesén: Web developer

(Oslo, Norway)

We are looking for a web developer to help take us to the next level

Who are we?

Started in 1999, we're working as consultants making the connection between the arts/culture scene in Norway and traditional businesses. Since 2005, web development have been an important part of what we do, currently filling two positions. Many of our projects are joint efforts with other small bureaus, and now we're staffing up both in project management and development.

What are our goals?

  • Execute the most interesting web projects, from clients that demand high quality
  • Make our publishing interface the best in the business
  • Fine-tune our methods and learn new things every day
  • Have fun in the process

Your job will be to help us reach these goals, and you will have the opportunity to make desicions about how to get there.

Who are you?

  • Always curious
  • Loving the web
  • Appreciate the importance of tailored interfaces, as well as elegant backend architecture
  • Have experience in creating and maintaining web backend systems. You will be working with php and MySQL (as that's our current codebase), but you might be able to convince us to use other languages. That's your call, really.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English (our codebase is not written in Norwegian!)
  • Big plus if you're fluent in semantic HTML and JavaScript.

Norwegian regulations (lots of social benefits, including 5 weeks of vacations). Flexible workdays. We make and eat lunch together. We travel to at least one conference a year. Many awesome parties (we celebrate our milestones!).

Tell us about yourself. Send a link to something you've made, and explain why you're proud of it. Twitter/Github profiles will be read.
