ABOUT REDSHIFT

Headquartered in downtown San Francisco, we are a boutique creative consulting firm focused on Internet business strategy, user experience design, and interactive media. We believe in good ideas and working with smart people. Our workspace is a beautiful brick and timber warehouse conversion in the heart of the downtown/SOMA area.

OUR WORK

We have done award-winning work for Symantec, Cisco, and others. Some of our current projects include:

• Creating an animated 60” touch-screen data visualization kiosk
• Reimagining the entire technical support and customer service experience for one of the top 10 software companies in the world
• Engineering a game-driven website to help children learn to read

This position is for in-house work at our San Francisco office. Please only apply if you are currently living in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years experience in UX design for app, web, or desktop-based interfaces
• portfolio of a broad range of interface solutions targeted at mass-market consumers
• ability to describe user experience strategy in writing and in presentations
• experience conducting qualitative user research and usability testing
• understanding of business strategy and brand considerations
• ability to manage clients, lead meetings, and communicate effectively in a consultative environment
• ability to translate UX strategy into actionable wireframes
• ability to manage internal and external creative teams
• research and advise appropriate technology solutions as needed
• work under tight deadlines on multiple projects
• enjoys working on-site in a studio environment
• a sense of humor

Specific Skills

• formal education in information architecture, communications design, product design or similar discipline
• experience in graphic design, copywriting, product management, and/or business strategy
• strong storytelling skills
• working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash.
• knowledge of AS/HTML/CSS/JS
