United Needs: TRANSMEDIA USER-EXPERIENCE DESIGNER
(Phoenix, AZ or potential Telecommute) United Needs is building a trusted, social trading exchange platform to connect anyone with a NEED to those with a SOLUTION for that need. Our goal is to change the world-- fulfilling one need at a time by employing expert networks, crowdsourcing and corporate social responsibility. The long-term goal is a new kind of trading platform that connects government leaders, the private sector, NGOs and individuals around an activation engine (mobile and web) to create transparency, collaboration and curation of the movement of goods and services around the planet. The first service will be microNEEDS (ask us about this)-- a solid, usable and achievable first product/service step on that journey, and we need strong designers and developers who share the vision of United Needs in making the world a better place by fulfilling one need at a time and then scaling the vision to massive proportions. API -> Appify -> Gamify: that is the gCommerce cycle on which we’re focused – appifying and gamifying global commerce and social good. If you'd like an opportunity to create transmedia experiences across the web, Facebook, portable widgets, browser apps and smartphones that actually do something good for the planet and its population, then you need to be part of the United Needs team. This is a full-time gig. Interaction and user-experience design a must. Being an experienced UX designer is a priority and the deeper you can go into HTML, CSS, Javascript, jQuery and other "front-end" oriented technologies the better (although this isn’t absolutely required for a strong designer). If you have experience in the design of game mechanics, too (or a passion to learn), that'll up the ante on your chances. We are committed to bringing together a top-notch team and helping them grow and are willing to train you on gamification and platforms you don’t yet know. Salary is competitive. You get to help save the world, and tell your children and grandchildren about it. Email your resume or portfolio with cover note. Additionally, if you’re an Arizona local, hold your calendar for 7pm on July 14th 2011 as the top 15 applicants will be invited to meet the United Needs team at a social mixer in Tempe.
