User Interface Developer (Temporary)

Job Summary

This position will be responsible for front-end coding for our projects, which include reporting, portals, workflow tools, search, surveys, social networking, and more. You’ll work closely with our small team of designers and developers to create powerful, modern, features for our web-based applications. This is a contract position to fill in for our lead UI developer during leave. The contract lasts 4 months, 40 hours per week, with a possible option to extend.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

• Translate design deliverables (prototypes, comps, etc.) into clean, standards-compliant front-end code.
• Work with other developers to ensure final markup is standards compliant.
• Enhance the user experience through effective use of front-end solutions.
• Influence and advance the functionality of our products; recommend UI solutions and best practices.
• Continually seek out new technologies and trends to use in our products.

• Collaborate effectively with team members and throughout the organization.

Minimum Qualifications

• Extensive XHTML, CSS, DOM, JavaScript and jQuery experience
• Understanding of HTML5 and CSS3 (some experience preferred)
• Adept at troubleshooting browser quirks
• Experience with SVN or other version control systems
• Able to work independently or collaboratively
• PHP experience is a plus
• Mobile app development is a plus
• Desire to constantly learn and improve
• Experience with web-based SaaS applications highly desired
