Nature of Work: Position will be part of a team of communicators in University Communications at the University of Colorado Boulder developing sites for CU-Boulder colleges, schools, departments, and internally managed sites such as the CU-Boulder's official web site, Prospective Student Center, and News Center.

Status: Full Time Relevant Work Experience: 2+ to 5 years

Compensation: $55,000 - $65,000 annually; Commensurate with experience

We are an award winning communications office looking to add a brilliant Drupal developer to our team in Boulder, Colorado. This team is responsible for managing and developing web sites at the university. This is an onsite position. No candidates with intentions to work remotely will be considered.

What you need for this position:

  • 2+ years of Drupal experience
  • Strong knowledge of theming; views, function overrides and preprocess functions
  • 4+ years of hand coding experience with HTML XHTML / CSS
  • High aptitude for visual design, interaction design and usability
  • rock solid in Photoshop and/or Fireworks
  • want a challenge. As in, you want to do something that you don't yet know how to do.
  • can work on many different things at once
  • can stay focused and produce without supervision
  • fast learner. Sponge-like. Can apply something you learned 3 minutes ago.
  • would enjoy working with a zany group of managers, developers, designers, and programmers
  • ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • are aware that there are more browsers than just IE and you regularly test sites for them
  • ability to develop sites on a Macintosh OSX computer

What you'll be doing:

  • Designing visual designs for websites 
  • Translating visual design into terrific web sites 
  • Rapidly deploy front end designs and coding 
  • Contribute to the platform and technical direction

Preferred Qualifications: Highly desirable skills include experience with Fireworks, Macintosh computers, and theming experience with WordPress. Knowledge of HTML5, XML, and XSLT would also be a real bonus. A  bachelor's degree is preferred.
