Adverplex: User Experience Developer
(Boston, MA) Adverplex is seeking a User-Experience/Front-End Developer or Design/Code Specialist to join our User Experience team. We’re hoping it might be YOU. YOU might be: An HTML/CSS expert with a passion for turning design concepts into living, breathing, dynamic sites with up-to-date, standards-compliant code. The kind of person who knows sprites and sliding doors inside and out, who understands the difference between Cufón and Typekit (and has a definite preference), and who dropped the X- from his html doctype way before anybody else was doing it. Then again, YOU could also be: A design school graduate whose fascination with the mathematical relationship between x-height and ascender has led you to seek a greater understanding of the technology that will define your field for the rest of your career.Someone who recognizes that the inexact nature of display across platforms requires a rethinking of traditional design paradigms, and embraces that challenge as the path to a better way forward. In fact, YOU might even be: An experienced programmer whose career trajectory has been shaped by a love of good visual experiences, and who has eschewed the more regimented data structures of the back end in favor of the unpredictably funky world of the browser.A Javascript expert who loves to delight users with visual flare and dynamic user interactions, who writes jQuery plugins for fun, and is ready to come astonish us. And maybe YOU are none of the above, a person we haven’t thought of yet, someone who is out there waiting to bring your passion and expertise to our team. Whatever the case, YOU will be a person who loves the web, who lives at the intersection between science and art, and, like all good display technologists, has never really understood that whole right/left brain thing, since both hemispheres are required to get the job done. Here’s what will be required of you:
Pluses: Mobile development experience, programming chops, graphic design skills, a past shrouded in mystery, a good comic book collection, the ability to play banjo while riding a unicycle... we like individuals. If the above sounds like YOU, we’d love to talk. Send us a resume and cover letter, and make sure to include portfolio samples. We're an all Mac shop, no Windows or Outlook, ever. Great benefits & company equity come standard. Paid company lunches every Friday. We can guarantee interesting problems to solve every day.
