The Role

TrueAction Network is searching for a Web Developer.

The Web Developer will be a member of a cross functional team responsible for building the presentation layer for world class web applications, including both e-commerce and marketing websites for leading retailers and brands.

The ideal candidate will posses two to seven years of professional experience working as part of a development technology team. The primary focus will be on front-end technologies, however the ability to work on back-end components like content management systems is greatly desired. Also desired is prior experience working in an interactive agency environment, as well as experience with e-commerce.

The candidate will have a sustained track record of delivering high-quality solutions on-time and on-budget. The candidate must demonstrate a strong technical competency in an environment that values accountability, quality, commitment, growth and innovation.

Essential Skills & Experience

' Standards compliant (x)html and CSS 2.1' Strong javascript, ability to utilize libraries like jQuery and Prototype, but not reliant' Object Oriented Programming' Understanding of MVC fundamentals' Comfortable in the Linux command line' Experience with a server side programming language, preferably Java/JSP/JSTL, PHP and/or Python' Experience with version control such as CVS, SVN or git' Knowledge of SEO, accessibility and front-end performance best practices' Ability to get around in Photoshop, slice images, create image sprites, etc.' Ability to work both independently as well as in a team' Desire to continually learn more and hone your craft' Ability to work with and optimize'when necessary'legacy codePreferred Skills & Experience' HTML5 and CSS 3' Core understanding of javascript fundamentals and intricacies ' Experience with the Django framework for Python' Experience with Magento E-commerce and/or Expression Engine' Flash and/or Flex' Knowledge of multiple server-side languages' Mobile Application development both in native apps, as well as the mobile web' SQL fundamentals' Linux server administration, bonus points for Debian' Bachelor's degree, with some academic exposure to computer science
